Default Backup with Tailgate Down

Is there a way to disable the proximity on the rear when hauling something large enough that the tailgate needs to be down?

I was hauling some lumber and the beep is so annoying.

You can't have it off permanently, I asked. You have to select it every time you start the vehicle and put it in reverse the first time.

Turn off parking aid? I think that'll do it, but I just got my new 2015 and still learning it.

If you turn it off, it will stay off until you start your engine again.

Figured that out after the 1st time I backed my boat down the ramp, beeped the whole
time. I was only looking at my mirrors until the 2nd time I backed it down and looked
at my dash where I saw the disable option.

Did you have your trailer wiring hooked up? When I hook my trailer up it automatically disables the backup sensors and BLIS. I know your supposed to unhook your trailer before backing into salt water for lighting longevity, but I don't.
