Default Backup Camera Replacement/Upgrade

My backup camera image is awful. The colors are washed out and I can barely make out the difference between my driveway and the grass when backing out - even in full daylight. My wife's Hyundai has a wonderful camera - as crystal clear and sharp a contrast as you can imagine. I want a good camera like hers in my truck.

Are there any aftermarket options? Is the problem the camera or the display - or both? I'd really like to just pop the factory one out and drop in a better one. I don't seem to find anything via google though. Any ideas appreciated.

There isn't much room in the tailgate handle for an aftermarket camera.

Your camera may be defected if your display on the dash shows good quality images for Sirus etc. Have the dealer check it out. I have a 2016 XLT and it's extremely clear in low light situations.

FWIW the rear view camera quality in low light situations is much better on a 2016 that has the Trailer Assist Lamp than a 2015 that does not - I own both so I can compare the quality of each.

I am currently in the process of installing the Trailer Assist Lamp on my 2015.
