Reconnect FORScan and try rebooting or restarting the BCM. if the BCM reboots successfully, try rebooting the APIM.

After the previous self-tests failed, were there any DTCs from those modules?

What version of FORScan are you running? What adapter are you using?

How long did you leave the battery disconnected? It needs a good 20-30 minutes for that to do anything.

I appreciate your help on this. I didn’t run anything additional since everything went black while plugged into forscan. I just went to vehicle info and disconnected. When looking at the ‘Vehicle Tests’ menu, the Log says “The vehicle conditions are incorrect”. No DTC’s in the following tab (but I didn’t run any after).

I’m using v2.3.65 with the OBDLink EX cable.

I did not let the battery sit unplugged last night. I did unplug this morning about an hour ago. Going to reconnect it now.

I always connect a charger to the battery whenever performing any FORScan operations. Correct module operations are very voltage dependent.

Reconnected the battery after about 30-45 minutes. No change. Everything is still dark.

Attempted to reconnect forscan and get an “Unable to read DTC” message.

Under Service Functions>Service Procedures I attempted BdyCM Module Reboot. Once “BdyCM Module Reboot has been started” I immediately get the message “Service procedure is not supported”.

As of now all power to the truck is dark with no input.

What is your battery voltage?

Just had it plugged up and it was at 7V. Kid said it wouldn’t register on the machine to test.

Bought a new one, heading back now to install.

Well that might explain some of your issues. If you have a charger, put it on the new battery while you have FORScan connected.

I’m hoping so. I bought a new battery and it had about 75% charge. It’s reading 12.47V so I’m charging that up to 100%, will throw it in and hope this kicks the systems back on. Will update shortly.

Battery replacement was an instant fix for power. All is well in that respect. I guess it was time for a new one anyways as the last one was 3 years old.

I also picked up a Noco Genius 10 and ran that while I connected to the truck to maintain voltage.

There were a bunch of DTC’s relating to voltage. I cleared them, reset the APIM and BCM. I then ran a test on what was suggested on the APIM, BCM, FCDIM. However, there is no module populating titled IPMB. Nowhere to be found…

I’m in need of some direction as I’m lost and at a dead end at this point.

I have a 2015 XLT with the 4” screen. I have confirmed a back up camera exists on this truck as the wiring is there, the handle has the camera and Ford verified my VIN that it’s fitted with one.

Issue:
No camera feed when reverse is engaged.

Typically, there will be a black screen or blue screen or a faulty image if there is an issue. My truck doesn’t even respond when reverse is selected. The screen does not react, blip, twitch.. nothing. When I first bought the truck, the display was bad but I remember putting it in reverse and the screen would blip like it wanted to engage the camera. Dealer warrantied the screen, sent me a new one, I installed it but the camera has never worked for me.

Steps Taken:
1. Pulled Center stack to ensure wiring is secure, intact, clean, etc.

All is well, nothing seems out of place, pinched, cut or frayed. Just dusty.

2. Checked fuse box.
The owners manual says slot 113 should have a 7.5A mini fuse and there is currently a 10A in its place when I purchased the truck. I have tapped that slot with the existing 10A and 3A to run the DRL’s of my Morimoto’s. I also removed the 10A and the tap and installed a 7.5A standalone fuse in slot 113 and tested again. Still no response from the camera or screen when placed into reverse.

3. Checked tail gate connection.
The connectors are dirty but do not look corroded, frayed or cut in any way. I disconnected them anyway to inspect the pins and it all looked mint. I also looked at the harness running between the tailgate and hitch area and nothing looked pinched, cut or out of place. Just dirty from a 10 year old truck.

4. Pulled the tailgate handle.
I inspected the harness there and again, dirty but all connections and pins look mint. No corrosion, cuts or fraying.

Next steps:
I have no clue!

Any steps or guidance you may have would be great and extremely appreciated. I have tried the aftermarket option and installed this Autovox V5 Pro and I hate it. The function is cool but I miss having an actual rear view mirror. It supposedly functions like one but it’s too dark and the depth is off, but I digress.

I plan to upgrade my 4” screen to the Infotainment 12” Sync 4 system and want to keep it as OEM/factory as possible, so I’m looking to trace this down but don’t know where else to look right now.

Any insightful tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated! TIA
When you shift to Reverse do you get a "Rear camera not available message"?
