Recommendations for backup lights.
2018 F150 screw.
is it best to go with a toggle switch inside or direct wired so when I put in reverse they come on? Dont want to blind people in Publix parking lot😊Don’t need them super bright.
Check out Rigid’s Ignite with diffuser lens. Being smaller than the 2x2 cube flame throwers they don’t wash out my back up camera or light up an entire mountain side. A pair of 1000 lumen diffused spread plenty enough light to see backing in rough terrain, yet are ok to leave on in town.
Mine are fused and tap into the seven pin trailer back up light wire under the rear bumper. Being concerned about brightness I wired in an on/off switch mounted opposite of the license plate light. Turns out diffused ignites are ok to use around town so that was not necessary.
Started out with a set of cubes under the rear bumper. Replaced those with flush mounts being afraid I would eventually crush them dragging the bumper, or flood them launching a boat. The cubes moved to the back of a trailer. $160 a pair on Amazon
wouldnt it be much easier to just install LED back up bulbs? Mine are so bright that it sets off my neighbors Ring floodlight when backing in at night.
I have flush mount LED's from Rough Country in my rear bumper. I have them hooked into the reverse lights as well as run off a switch in my overhead console.

This time I went with the license frame and breakout adapter too. This one is the higher powered one. https://www.vleds.com/shop-applicati...everse-13.html
I like these. Vled notes theirs do not interfere with your backup sensors. Ignites don’t either.
That can be a problem with some LEDs

7365015[/url]]Huh, I wasn't aware of that, what does it do to your sensors?
When some LEDs were mounted in proximity, PAM function did not work with the lights on. Temporary condition/no damage. Probably remembering early reports in these forums. Back when guys were experimenting with the early gen 12s solving lousy back up lighting. No personal experience myself.
