Went out to put my truck in the garage...it's supposed to storm tonight. Put it in reverse, back up camera doesn't come on. It said something like "Back up camera not available." I went ahead and backed it into the garage. Then just for the heck of it, turned it off, then back on, put it in reverse, camera was there. What the heck?

2016 F-150 XLT with slightly over 7K miles on it. It can't be having problems already, can it?

 

I also get that in my 2017 occasionally. Other times the entire system may go black for a few seconds, and at times it doesn’t play well with my phone.

Personally, I really like the CarPlay and Sync system but at the same time it can absolutely be glitchy.

 

I just put the door dampener on my truck. When I backed up I didn't have my backup camera. I went back and checked the cable that I forgot to reconnect.

My point is to check the plug to the tailgate under the back of the truck and see if it can be loose or something.

 

Now that you mention it, my phone didn't sync up the last couple of times I drove it. I just thought it was the phone.
