Default Back-up camera FYI

So after three months, my back-up camera is no longer working properly. It goes from a distorted screen to a fuzzy screen to a total black screen. And I get a message that says, "Camera is unavailable. Please contact dealership". So I contact the dealership. I was told to bring my truck in so they can look at it. I get to the dealership Friday, and the service advisor informs me that this is an ongoing problem and Ford knows about it and proceeds to show me a stack of paper 2 inches high of other customers with the same problem. He then tells me that there is no "fix" at this time for my issue. Apparently, the manufacturer of the cameras screwed up and Ford is looking for another company to make the camera. He says, eventually Ford will issue a recall, but not to expect a fix until October or November. WTF?

Cameras are probably from China and are sick with COVID-19

First Post.
I bought my truck about 4 weeks ago and didn't get it home from the dealer before the rear camera went out. Same issue, black screen, fuzzy screen, multi color screen etc. amazing amount of different looks. None of them good. I have 3000 on here already so I'll have them look at it when I get my oil changed. I had the same issue on my 2017 Mustang GT. Bummer.

Wow. That's ridiculous. Never heard about this till now and looking into it Fords been having the issue for years including Mustang, Fusion, Explorer etc. Same supplier? But Fords known and kept using them? So your screen can just go fubar and your sol till maybe later this year and that's if even there is a fix? Wow....

I'd be ****ing livid if that happened to my new Platinum after that $$ and was told tough **** enjoy your fubar camera system for months and months to come. Friends - you don't have reverse backup? Oh yeah, that's the fubar option Ford included on a $70k truck lol.

I have a 17 and the passenger side camera acts up every so often but the others have been fine. Have a 20 on order that I won't get until probably September. Fingers crossed on that one.

So far so good but only took delivery of my 2020 two days ago. Fingers crossed my truck does not come down with this dreaded Camvid!

Mine built end of Feb, no problems (knock on wood). Ugh, just the thought of taking it to the Dealer.
