every time before I shut off the truck. every accessory gets shut down . Drives me insane when people don't do that, just extra load on the battery when starting

Its -20 degrees F here today. My new 2018 auto start stop is still kicking in and working fine.

To clarify a few of the responses - my *** still works when my seatbelt is off - it also works when my defrost is on.
I would rather be the opposite and have it off in heavy stop and go traffic.

My take on it so far as Ive only had my new 2018 for a month is that while its under warranty I would rather keep it activated and turn it off when I want via the dash switch so that it gets a workout and if anything is going to go (starter for example) it will hopefully go under warranty period.

I dont think all the interior accessories come on until the engine is started and the ECM tells the heater-radio etc to activate.

Yup, battery driven accessories are now controlled by the various modules throughout the truck and are designed to shut down and start up in a way that eliminates extra fatigue on the battery when the truck is turned off/started.

As far as "extra fatigue", a battery is a disposable item. Not sure turning the extra accessories off/on a modern battery is doing a single thing to hurt or help it. It's a battery.

I was always the same way, and it's hard to try and remember to not do that in the truck. Prior vehicles would actually be on when trying to start, that's not the case these days and with the truck. It also helps to have the seat heaters working with remote start too.

And the battery is MUCH easier and cheaper (and required) to replace than all of the buttons / controls on the dash.
