Update. Got my truck back from the dealer on Friday afternoon and as suspected the battery was bad. They did the warranty load test and found it to be bad. They replaced the battery for free under warranty and now my Auto start/stop has been working again at stoplights and anywhere else it should.

Mine hasn't shut itself off the last couple of days, so, the next decent weather day we have I'm headed to Batteries Plus.

I can't confirm, but I think there might be.

My situation is 2017 XLT 3.5EB; *** hasn't been working for probably 4 to 6 months; always says vehicle charging. Initially I could put in on a battery tender for a few days and afterwards *** would start working. Last few months, that didn't work. Last few weeks truck would not start about 50% in the morning; put it on a charger for a few minutes and it would start. My normal parking situation is unlocked in the garage. I tried locking it in the garage and had better success ratio. It's at the dealership now, but everytime they test the battery it passes.

Sounds exactly like what was happening to mine. Auto s/s not working for 2 months, would put it on the battery tender overnight and it worked again, then that didnt work anymore. Then when it started to barely start in the morning I had enough and took it in.
Battery was shot, the guys at autozone checked it and could tell me the percentage charge (20%). But they said they didn't have the equipment to test if the battery was good/bad, but said the dealer would.
Dealer tested it and said it was bad right away.
One thing about the battery tender that I noticed was that it would show charge complete after only being on the battery for an hour or two. Which could not be correct if the battery was only at 20%, it should take quite a bit longer to charge (8-10 hours possibly). And I believe if a battery is going bad it will begin to not hold a charge (obviously) but it wont take a charge either.

After 1-1/2 days the dealership finally figured out it was a bad battery afterall. Who would have guessed it?
