Default Auto stop-start ??

About a month ago my 2018 6 cyl. quit stopping at a stoplight. I didn't think too much of it as I don't think it was really saving much fuel. Thing is I would get a message saying "battery charging". Ok I get that. Then I stopped getting that message and finally my battery gave up the ghost. Alternator is showing 14+ volts at the battery when running, so I replaced the battery. New battery has been in for a couple weeks and now and still no auto stop-start and no battery charging message on the dash. Is this just a normal thing or should I be concerned?

Was the battery properly reset with the 8 hours of sleep or something like that?

Was the BMS (Battery Monitoring System) reset? Did you change battery type or size? There are many different things which can prevent the Auto-Start/Stop from working.

I replaced the FOMOCO with an Everlast of equal CCA's and dimension. Wasn't aware of the BMS reset. I'll look into that for sure. Thanks!

Battery was likely fine and just needed to be charged.

What are your driving habits like? Like on a regular basis, how long do you drive continuously without using the starter?

2015 Lariat 2.7l - my auto stop/start hasn't worked for years now. Battery checks out fine with a load test. Each time I use the truck it is a 45 minute drive before I get to town.

I don't care that it doesn't work. When I get to town I might see 2 or 3 traffic lights anyway.
