Default Auto Start/Stop issue

I have a 2020 F150 XLT SuperCrew with the 2.7L EB engine. For the second time, since buying it new, the Auto Start/Stop has completely shut the truck down. The first time I just thought it was a fluke, but it happened a second time this past weekend. I had to cycle the key off, and then back on again, which is rather embarrassing while sitting at a stop light.

In four years owning my 2016 with the same engine, this never ever happened. My 2020 has under 2800 miles on it.

did you forget to take your foot off the brake.
Sounds like a battery management issue.

Stop/start is inhibited with a low charge battery. So I'm discounting that as the cause. But how often and how far is it being driven? I've had a couple of moments recently in one car I don't drive often of forgetting how the adaptive cruise control works........so I feel stupid as I slow down...

Sounds like you're ready to turn it off completely. I went this route...no regrets.

Or, you can spend $30-$40 less and get an Autostop Eliminator.

Guys, I appreciate the work-arounds, but I am worried there is something bigger going on here. I mean this technology has been around long enough that either A) you would think that Ford would have this figured out, or B) other owners would have experienced something similar.

You have a brand new truck. If you're worried there's a problem with it, take it to the dealership and have them take a look at it.
