Default Auto Start/Stop

Two months ago I purchased a new 2019 F-150 Lariat (501-A) with a 5.0. I really like the truck but hate a couple of things about it. One is the horn honk when you get out with the key in your pocket and the other is the auto stop/start function. A friend of mine who has a shop told me he just went through an online training course that showed him how to permanently turn the *** program off (I assume he is using FORScan). He told me he'd do my truck for free but I am now having reservations as I am afraid this might impact my warranty. What to you all think, should I go for it or just live with the aggravation?

Forscan works really well and lots of people here have used it. I first went with Forscan, but since changed to the Auto Stop Eliminator. It gives the option of using the feature if you want and to disable it if you don't. It basically makes the button on the dash stay in what ever mode you left it in.

Some folks say that the Forscan method disables autostop by disabling the battery monitoring system. The Autostop Eliminator product seems to be the best method out there right now since it leaves everything else functioning as normal.

The only thing weird I've noticed about the Autostop Eliminator (and other folks have also noticed) is that it makes the "OFF" light on the autostop button turn on with the dome light when you remove the key from the ignition.

First world problems...

Using FORScan to make modifications is detectable by the dealer IF they go and look for it. Or, if a component fails and during the evaluation and/or repair they notice it. To deny warranty coverage, they must prove that your changes caused the failure. That's true of any change you make, whether with FORScan or anything else.

We have online training courses for FORScan? Sounds more like IDS training.

I have the AS/S switch and it works perfect...the way Ford should have made it, as an actual on/off switch.
I have push button start, no physical key, but the AS/S switch " off" light stays on the entire time the accessory or ignition is on.
Which is normal, because it's off.
The switch is a quick and easy "plug and play" too.

Except you're using a device plugged into the system that cuts off the ***. A dealer could just as easily find this as well.

I took my '18 for its first dealer service last month and forgot to turn the autostop button back on (I have the Autostop Eliminator installed), so despite the "OFF" light already being on when they started the truck, along with the message that pops up on the screen saying "Autostop is Disabled by Driver," they didn't say anything about it.
