Default Auto recirculate turn off

I'm sure there is a thread about this but I'll be darn if I can find it.
Is there a way to prevent the AC recirculate from automatically coming on whenever I start my truck? Or is that one of the things I need the FORScan for?

That's weird... my 2016 and 2018 will stay on recirc. If you press "auto" it will turn it off, but if left alone, it stays on. I didn't change anything in Forscan intentionally to get that behavior, and I'm pretty certain it did that before any Forscanning.

My XLT always defaults back to recirculate after each start, have not been able to figure it out how to stop it from doing that.....

Wouldn't recirc get it to your "ideal temperature" quicker? No matter if increasing in temp, or decreasing. Then once you're at it, it can go back to bringing in smaller amounts of fresh air to maintain target.

If the outside temperature is 75 or higher the HVAC system will automatically turn on recirc. It cools quicker and is more efficient.

2019 XLT - same. I do not like it, and wish I could control it myself. Here - when it's warm/hot and raining...RECIRC will not allow the AC to dehumidify the interior air, which means it stays fogged up. Grr.

But...

I did not know this, which at least explains what I have been thinking is aberrant behavior. (I'd still like to disable it though) Forscan guru's?

Not sure you are correct. Recirc prevents the drawing in of the moist hot air you are looking to get rid of, and by cooling the interior recirculated air, it dehumidifies it. AC dehumidifies whatever air that goes thru the exchanger. Recirc doesn't change that.

Hmm. Myself & my colleagues (all in our 50’s or beyond) universally agree that if the system remains set on RECIRC for awhile in *any* vehicle, it will begin to fog up (if not already fogged up) and remain fogged up if fogged up at initial start. I have witnessed this many, many times as a driver and a passenger.

I am keen to read some additional opinions! 😎
