Simple but stupid thing to look at because ive done this and dont know if you got it fixed yet but you also need to make sure that your headlight control switch thats got the 4 way dial to completely turn off your lights, have them in marker lights only, on all the time, and auto that they are in the auto tab for the auto headlights function to work. Just had this issue today and felt dumb as hell when I figured the actual system wasnt in auto mode from the gitgo

Not figured out yet. My auto highbeam lights do work, but they don't always go to high. If they do go to high, and there are oncoming lights, they quickly switch to lowbeam.
All my settings are correct.
I want to know if I can adjust when to switch to highbeam.

I see what your asking now, as far as the programming of when the lights switch to high/low, low/high that is hard programed into the light sensor in the visor or rearview mirror. You can't change that, might be able to with forscan, but to my understanding its hard programmed. So if they just went to high from low and a new vehicle is seen by the camera they'll automatically switch to low again every time and then they're supposed to jump back to high as soon as the camera looses tracking of the other vehicle usually when your side by side. That's what my truck does and it's almost instant as long as there's not another car oncoming.

My issue is they dont always switch to high when it's dark and no oncoming vehicles.
But if they are autoswitched to high, they correctly switch to low when there's oncoming vehicles.
How is the turn on sensitivity adjusted. I have forscan.

For mine it seems like the moon can cause it to think there is oncoming traffic. If it is taking too long, I just manually put it on high. It still auto-lowers after that.
My auto high beams are set too conservatively. They do quite well on dark rural highways with little traffic. However, it seems like one pair of headlights or taillights a mile in the distance or even the reflection from white traffic signs will shut them off, when I still need them to see. I keep them in manual mode on rural Interstates and busy 4-lane highways.
I seem to be having the same or similar problem with my auto high beams on my 2016 F-150 king ranch.
The physical components (headlights, dial light switch and stalk on the column) seem to all be functioning. The system and conditions: (light switch dialed to auto, auto high beams option “checked” in the drop down settings menu on the instrument cluster, night time, not too much ambient light, at or above required vehicle speed and no oncoming headlight or taillights in front of me) are all met and yet the white icon on the dash (headlight silhouette with the little “A” in the middle see red circled icon in the attached photo) never illuminates and my auto high beams don’t automatically come on. By the way the icon only illuminate for the phot because I put the cluster in engineering mode to test whether all dash icons and warning lights COULD illuminate.
I think the fact that the white icon does not illuminate on my dash may be the bigger indicator that the auto HIGH BEAMS part of the system is not actually functioning even though the above conditions are met and the auto HEADLIGHTS are working as they are supposed to.
However, what do you think and/or what have you found? Also, if the white icon not being illuminated is an indicator of the problem with the system, what have you found or done to restore functionality. Thank you very much
Thank you.

Is your windshield dirty? Do you have an option in the programming to turn this on?
Windshield is clean. As per my initial post above, all of the components seem to work and the system choices are set for this to work yet the icon doesn’t display and the HIGH BEAMS don’t come on AUTOMATICALLY.
I’ve also used Forscan to check for any DTC’s and none come up.
i wonder if there is any deep functionality in the BCM or APIM that I need to use Forscan to “re-awaken” so the system working icon (white silhouette with the A in the middle) illuminates and my auto HIGH BEAMS work AUTOMATICALLY.

Not sure this was asked, but if you turn on the high beams manually with the light switch dial in auto mode, do they turn off when oncoming traffic approaches?
