Default Auto headlight setting

I just got a 2019 ford f150 2.7 and I love it. One thing I noticed is on the auto mode . It have to be like super bright sunshine for it to realize and turn off the headlights. Is that normal? Or is my light sensor maybe weak?

anyone experiencing that?

If it’s got daytime running lights & the truck is running, the headlights are on.
Is there anything blocking the raised black sensor in the middle of the dash?

The sensor is located in the middle of the dashboard close to the windshield. It looks like this:

My auto lamps are on the conservative side... they often turn on before sunset if I'm in the shade, and before many other vehicles. Make sure you don't have something sitting over the sensor on the top center of the dashboard, or a layer of dust.

when you have your headlight on auto or off, when you press the high beam to like flash someone or signal someone, does ur low beam turn on with it too? I noticed that even if my headlights are off or on auto, If I like quick press on the high beam, the low bream go on and off with it . Is that normal?

Yes that is normal. When the headlamps are off (even in Auto) and you pull the high beam lever, this is a flash-to-pass that illuminates both high and low beam. If the headlamps are in ON and you pull the lever, it engages normal high beam. If in AUTO and the headlamps are on, pulling the lever engages normal high beam.
