Default Auto Folding Mirror Longevity Issues?

Has anyone had any issues with the powered folding mechanism in their mirrors? I am thinking about setting mine to autofold when truck is powered off, but wanted to check first to see if its going to harm the mechanism after a ton of use over the upcoming years.

Fairly common for them to fail after they are several years old.

Interesting to hear, though I don't have them on my 2018 F150. Our 2006 BMW has the powered folding mirrors, and they still work like a champ.

Had power folding mirrors on three F-150's and my wife's BMW has them. Never once had an issue In all reality, how often do you use them, maybe once a day?

I fold mine in entering my garage, then back out the next day.

Hopefully, they will be as reliable as power windows, windshield wipers, and power locks.

I had that exact concern when I got my 2013. I used them everyday, some days multiple times. 4 years later they never had a problem. Let’s hope for the same success with the current mirrors.

What do you base this absurd statement on?

I had auto folding mirrors on my 2010 and used them multiple times a day and never had a single issue. Granted, I'm a sample of one, but I've been on this forum for almost 10 years and have never read a single post about auto mirrors failing.

Same thing on my 2012 and ZERO problems in 5 years of constant use! I have my 2017 set with Forscan to the Lincoln mirror setting and love it....
