Default Auto Engine ON/OFF Solutions List :)

So my auto on/off button isn't currently working so I've been temporarily doing anything I can to stop my engine from turning off, I figured I'd compile a small list of things that work!

Also, I'd love to see a scientific research into exactly how much gas this feature actually saves you. I refuse to believe that turning off the engine for a few seconds here and there will save you anymore than maybe 2-3 gallons per year, I REFUSE!

#1 Press the OFF button each time like a filthy peasant

#2 Hard wired jumper (module must have feature activated)

#3 Buy a Tuner ~$400-$600 (Expensive!)

#4 Maneuver your steering wheel left and right like an idiot at every stop

#5 Lightly press and depress your brakes at every stop

#6 Install a hitch cover to trick your truck into tow mode

#7 Don't wear your seat belt (WARNING: May result in death)

#8 Disable seat belt sensor, turn off seat belt reminder chime, ....., profit!

#9 Set truck on fire, collect insurance money, buy a V8 (May result in jail time, but totally worth it)

Edit
#10 defrost on
#11 low fuel
#12 buy ugly Chevy

Did I miss any?

Buy a Chevy 😂

Just kidding! I don't have that feature on my truck. My wife has that in her new vehicle and I find it rather annoying. I think it's harder on the engine always turning off and starting at intersections. What if years down the road, it decided not to start up? Then what

Didn't know that. You'd think they would let you choose to hook it up to a computer and disable that feature.

Start/Stop doesnt bother me that much. I hate it in my wifes cherokee, the Jeeps have a longer hesitation.

And I plan on getting a tuner soon, so probably will disable it then

You can press the tow/ haul button. It's half the distance to the actual button for the lazy among us.

I'm among the "let it be" school of thought, but I'm pretty good at #5. I only use the button when I go in race car mode. One click there, 2 on the traction control button, and 2 on the tow/ haul button.

Just doing my part to educate those who still believe "there is no replacement for displacement."

You don't leave it turned, you have to continuously turn slightly left then right then left then right over and over again like you're having a seizure to make the truck think that you're about to turn and therefore the engine won't turn off.

The tow button doesn't disable the auto engine off , at least not for me, something has to be connected to the hitch for tow mode to disable engine off
