Default Auto Climate Control

2 questions for those with the automatic climate control - (1) when the Auto is on, if you push the button again, does it turn it off, and (2) when Auto is on, do the rest of your climate buttons light up showing where the air is being directed?

On mine, when Auto is on, I can not push the button again to turn it off. If I manually override a setting, it does kick itself off (change air to flow one area, change fan speed, etc.). Also, when on Auto, nothing else is lit up showing me where the fan is blowing. I am not necessarily upset about either one, as long as they are working properly. But if I'm supposed to be able to turn Auto off by just clicking the button, or if I'm supposed to see where the air flow is coming from, I'd like to get those issues addressed.

Thanks in advance.

When auto is on, pushing the button again does nothing. The only way to turn auto off is selecting a different setting. With auto on, the only lights that are on is the power button light and a/c light.

Great, glad to hear it's working correctly. Thanks!

Here's what I see:
- Pressing the Power/Auto (hard) button under the touch screen lights the Power/Auto and AC buttons and does what I would expect it to do in terms of the climate settings
- Performs the same as if I'd gone to Climate screen and hit Auto; no directional airflow indicated, the overall "Auto" area is outlined
- Pressing the Power/Auto (hard) button or the soft button on the Climate screen turns everything off

I have a similar thing and was wondering if it was working as it should.

I can press my MFT screen "auto" button and turn it off or on. In turning it on, my "ac" light does not come on..."ac" light only comes on if I push "ac" when in "auto" mode.

I have not tried the hard buttons. I will try that and see how it works. My old 2010 in "auto" mode the ac light came on when auto was turned on.

*******NEW INFO******
I tried it when I got in the truck...I could not turn "auto" off on the MFT screen and on mine if you turn the climate control off...If the "ac" light was on, it will come back on when you turn it on with either the touch screen or hard button. If you press the hard "auto" button the "ac" light will come on on both hard button and touch screen.

In and for Christ,
Glen

Another HVAC question...had my A/C on today and noticed that even when the Auto climate was turned off, the truck kept kicking the recirculated air on. I'd manually turn it off, and then it would pop back on a few minutes later. Anyone have the recirculated air kick on by itself with the A/C on? Is this normal operation?

From the Man-well. page 134:

"Note: Recirculated air may turn off automatically (or be prevented from turning on) in all airflow modes except MAX A/C to reduce risk of fogging. Recirculated air may also turn on and off automatically in Panel or Panel and Floor airflow modes during hot weather in order to improve cooling efficiency."

Weird. My manual version does not have that last sentence. It has the first bit about turning off automatically, but not on/off if in panel mode (which it is).

On mine, I've noticed that A/C will turn on or off automatically as needed when in 'Auto' mode. When in Auto as others have said, pressing Auto again does nothing except reset if I happened to turn off A/C if it had turned on automatically or manual selected one of the registers.

Auto turns OFF if I manually select say a specific register vent, or Max A/C, etc. but Auto stays ON if I just press recirc (like in a car wash or dusty road), of I manually turn off A/C when the auto system had turned it on.

Also, I've got it set for 'auto', not 'last setting' in my productivity screen settings. So when I use auto start, truck will heat or cool as needed depending on temps, and heat or cool the seats too. I'm really loving how well the auto climate system works overall!
