Default Audio upgrades/issues

Curious how people have upgraded audio in your trucks, I have a 20’stx and did a full system audio frog doors n tweeters sundown subs they go from a audio integration harness (jumper harness that plugs into factory harness then plugs into audio unit” has speaker wire out and speaker in (to send to amp and take in from amp).

got 2 things

1 my sub goes absolutely haywire at like volume 1 like it’s pushing insane wattage at such a low volume. Amp is an audio control 1100.5. 4 channel in 5 out gains set to zero set to audio turn on (when it sense audio signal it kicks on)

second thing is I have the old school chimes coming from the cluster now more so for this one I’m curious if this is normal when keeping the factory head unit system but changing the whole speaker lay out

Powerd or Passive sub? Possibly speaker level going to amped sub?

it’s a powered sub on its own channel coming out of amp. Amp takes a 4 channel in and has a 5 channel out

The chimes coming through the cluster is a weird buggy feature, some people think it's related to the battery state of charge.

The cluster speaker is like a backup for the chimes coming through the stereo. If your stereo changes make the system think that the stock speakers are gone (because they are), it could be rerouting chimes to the cluster to make sure you can still hear them.

Now that makes the most sense just a weird thing since while stock speakers are out I would think the stereo still sends chime signal through to speakers I wonder if the amp blocks out the chime and the truck can sense that
probably explains why it’s so obnoxious and loud

The amp doesn't block it, the SYNC system can detect that the original speakers are gone, so it plays the tones through the cluster instead because it doesn't know what has been installed in place of the original speakers.
