Always been into detailing my truck and friends cars, I finally decided to try Cquartz. I've always been a Collinite every few months kind of guy and decided to see what the hype is about with this ceramic coating. Having most of the equipment already, I purchased the Cquartz at 25% off and today gave it a whirl. All in all took me a bit over 5 hours from start to finish. Initial impression are this stuff is pretty easy to work with. I was hesitant about applying too much at first, but got comfortable pretty quick. The paint isn't as slick as a fresh coat of wax feels. The shine is just as good a fresh coat of wax is.
Steps I took before applying.
1. Washed with foam canon (did not dry the truck)
2. Used nano skin instead of clay and used the water from the wash as lubricant. Added water-less wash when needed.
3. Paint is in pretty good condition so I didn't use my 3m compound. Instead polished the truck using my Flex polisher (white pad) and CarPro Reflect.
4. Wiped the truck down using Eraser Spray
5. Allied the Cquartz. At first was hesitant about applying too much as I read some reviews about high spots. I ended up going back over the front part of the truck a second time after i became more comfortable with the product
Here are my results:
I really wont know how well it performs until I wash the truck. I have a friends jeep lined up next.

Looks great. I think you’re going to really like it. I had a detail shop apply it to my black Dodge Charger about a month ago and I absolutely love it. It’s great stuff!
I had applied Opti Coat to my 2013 Accord and thought it was”ok.” The Cquartz seems to have a nicer finish.
Your truck looks great. I just picked up my new 2018 F150 Platinum in White Platinum yesterday at 5pm from the dealer and dropped it off today at noon to get full color correction and Modesta BC-05 applied to the paint and CQuartz FORTE applied to the glass. I was back and forth between a few of the paint protections but ultimately decided that I wanted Modesta. One of the drawbacks about Modesta, for the DIY, is that it has to be professionally applied so it is not for everyone. Vivë Auto Detailing of Houston is performing all of the work.
Nice! I am waiting for my new truck to get on a train and come south. Have been researching ceramic coatings. A few detailers around me do opti coat and ceramic pro. Still looking for some input on which to go with
