I recently heard that if you use remote start, sometime Carplay has issues connecting.

My truck does the same thing. It is intermittent, but annoying. I have tried shutting the truck off and restarting, but when the Apple CarPlay does not connect, that doesn't fix it. Doing a reset seemed to work, but annoying that it needs to be done on a six month old truck. And mine has done this since new. Not annoying enough yet to make an appointment at the dealer. That strikes me as more of a hassle than this right now.

Start simple try a new cable. It is an Apple problem not a Ford Sync problem.

I did that first and tried a couple different ones. Did not cure my truck

My old iPhone had a bunch of dust and buildup in the port, so it didn’t have good connection.

New one is way better. Not clogged up with dust.

Ive also had issue with my case not allowing the cord to plug in all the way.
New cord with a slimmer plug helped.

Lastly, even with a new phone and cord, sometimes if I pick the phone up while it is connected it will move enough to lose connection and exit apple play.

Same here from time to time. Doesn’t charge phone or connect to CarPlay.
Very Sporadic (maybe 1 out of 20 times), and only on my truck (no issues charging my phone otherwise).

Oh and I’m using an apple OEM charge cord.

Usually I have to shut off truck, open driver’s door to turn off system completely, then restart truck.

Annoying, but since I retro’d it to my truck, I can’t complain but so much.

Been happening to me lately, I just reset the screen and it fixes it. Hold down power (volume ****) and seek right until it reboots.
