APIM replacement
So I am wanting to know what people have paid for their APIM replacement, not covered by a warranty of course and if you received any goodwill assistance from Ford. I need to replace mine in the 16 F150 Plat, just out of warranty at 40K in mileage. I already have a case with Ford customer care so I think I am partially there. Also has you dealer thrown in any funds to help as well.
Thanks for your responses

You're probably looking at 500.00 to 1000.00 depending on if it's NAV and XM ready. If it's also Climate Control, that would also push that up. There's a regular here who IM'd me a price for my 16 with NAV and XM for 500.00. I don't know if he wants this public, hopefully he sees it.
yea mine basically runs the car, ex nav etc....did you have to replace yours as well then? I had mine in the shop this week...they did the hard software update which did nothing...next step to me is complete replacement
PM Texasfording... he's a great guy and he may be able to help you out with a unit if he has some available. If I recall correctly, Sync 3 APIM is either Nav or non-Nav. SiriusXM is your radio (ACM) and controls like climate are APIM configurations through Forscan.
I changed mine as an upgrade, not warranty. If all you need is an APIM, it's an easy swap but you will need to take apart part of the dash to get to it... its bolted behind your touchscreen but again, it's not hard to do. What is Ford looking to charge you just for the APIM not including labor?
If you're familiar with Forscan, you can program the new APIM yourself saving you the labor cost but not sure if Ford will sell you just the APIM without doing the labor. The physical replacement of the APIM is the easy part, it's the programming that can get a little tricky. If they will, you can retrieve your as-built values from https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt
