Decided to tackle my flares, finally. We opted to just cover over the self park sensors. We don't have parallel parking in our town. Plus it doesn't seem to work as well since we leveled the truck. Before Pic Bushwacker Flare Install-image-3496457902.jpg Here is front OEM fender off. Few Screws to get out and some push snaps. The clips on the fenders are a pain to get off from the OEM flares. I ended up tearing off 2 tabs on the OEM flares Bushwacker Flare Install-image-2957569830.jpg You'll want a set of these from Harbor Freight. Be sure to put tape on the bottoms to keep paint from getting damaged Bushwacker Flare Install-image-3585737368.jpg While I was in here, decided to push on the crash bar. Rubbing is gone now. Bushwacker Flare Install-image-1723704064.jpg You can already see damage done from OEM flares Bushwacker Flare Install-image-1330230947.jpg The fronts have these inner pieces to attach. The Bushwackers do not screw/bolt anywhere on their own. That is only factory screws go back in. Bushwacker fasteners go into clips you put on over rubber that you apply to the metal. Cannot believe the number of clips used Bushwacker Flare Install-image-1849605863.jpg The backs also use rubber over the metal and new clips Bushwacker Flare Install-image-1544333676.jpg Take your time putting seal on, pays in the long run. Also had about a foot left. I have done other brands of fenders and freaked out because there was barely enough left Bushwacker Flare Install-image-3799304274.jpg Just line up the holes, and insert the screws the instructions tell you use Bushwacker Flare Install-image-3453742861.jpg Those who are curious about the size of 305/55/20, here they are next to my 35/12.5/18 on my Bronco Bushwacker Flare Install-image-3974727243.jpg And we are all done Bushwacker Flare Install-image-1874733520.jpg Bushwacker Flare Install-image-2989188181.jpg Bushwacker Flare Install-image-1004605460.jpg Bushwacker Flare Install-image-3330824032.jpg Bushwacker Flare Install-image-4161072236.jpg Bushwacker Flare Install-image-47028227.jpg Bushwacker Flare Install-image-4065006864.jpg

Looks great!

Just finished putting 33" tires on my XLT. looking at doing the same upgrade with the Bushwackers w/o pockets too.

How's the finish on them w/o paint? Like the matt black contrast.

Thanks/Alan

I like the finish (Matte) but I can see that the will get scratched so will be experimenting with different products to keep them looking good.

Thank you for sharing this. I have placed an order for mine as well. This is a silly question but did you place your flares over the park-assist sensor?

Just saw you are in Oregon! I'm in the Portland Metro area. You?

Love the set-up you have going.

I bought a 3/4 hole saw to move the sensors out, But, we don't have have parallel parking here and It doesn't work as well since we leveled the truck. It also was an option that came with the truck, no great loss.

I'm glad I found this thread. I have a 2015 with everything like yours except the parking assist. I've always used BushWhacker flares - but I went cheap this last time (because it's so simple! - hahaha) and they were a pain. No holes predrilled, the edges didn't seem to match up. When I got to the rears, I found the arc of the wheel well on the truck is bigger than the flares - so I was stuck. I was told it was because I had the technology package. Since the fenders on the trucks in all of the install video's didn't have all of the holes like ours do - I figured they were completely different. But it looks like the whole problem is that I went cheap with the $160 set from Ebay.

So the BushWhackers are all pre-drilled with everything matching the existing holes on your inner fenderwell? The flares I got had little nipples in the plastic instead of being pre-drilled - and they seemed to match the video's I saw - but neither matched my truck (what's with all the freaking holes in the exterior of the fender?).
