I'm curious how much weight savings there is between resin and aluminum since aluminum is pretty light already.

I would assume its cost related, not weight savings.

You can't have my metal oil pain! I've already given up my steel sheet metal, what more do you want from me? Haha

I also don't think it's about weight savings vs aluminum, but cost makes more sense. I'd bet from a mild hit the plastic one would take it without cracking like an aluminum one would.

Let's go back to the original question:Anyone regret getting the 3.5 Ecoboost and wish they could trade for a 5.0?
Seems to me the question was geared toward 3.5 EB owners. After reading most of this thread I have seen very few folks that regret getting an EB and wishing they had a 5.0. So my question is why are so many 5.0 owners here making posts when the question was not asked of them?

People are finding new ways to dress up eco vs 5.0 threads...

Grass is always greener on other side of fence...I suspect many eco owners wonder what the 5.0 is like and same for 5.0 owners wondering what the eco woulda been like in their trucks...anyway...Merry Christmas!!!

I might be one of the few who can speak from 1st hand experience since I own and use both regularly.... The 3.5EB 2nd gen with 10speed is a HUGE improvement over the 5.0/6speed..... HUUGE! My next will be an EB again....no regrets

That’s easy to answer, the same reason the eco guys are in 5.0 threads.

I own 2012 and 2015 F150 ecoboost. Nothing beats 2015 ecoboost in sport mode!
