Is anyone here running a Flowmaster Super 50 SI/DO muffler?
I like the look of dual exhaust, trying to find something mellow for the muffler...tried two different Magnaflow type mufflers (Jones MF2288 and MF2588) that I thought would fit the bill and both are significantly louder than I was expecting (in fact despite the 2588 being HUGE compared to the 2288 there is very little difference in sound volume).
I'm wondering if maybe a larger chambered muffler might be a better option for this but it looks like the only good option I have there is the Super 50 (in 409 stainless). I'm just wondering how exterior sound volume is with that muffler.

If no one replies and you do go that route, post up what you think afterwards. I’m eying that one as well. I want something deeper and more audible than stock, but not obnoxiously loud. Pretty partial to Flowmaster sound on Ford V8’s too compared to other brands. I think super50 might be the ticket, but I dunno what effect cats, resonator, etc will have. A 40 series might be better given that. Pretty torn right now.
I'm really struggling with it right now because I thought the muffler on the truck now would be a surefire ticket to the note I wanted and it is not. These 5.0's seem very loud even with factory cats. I'm hesitant to spend $150 on the Flowmaster and have it not be what I want also. Just not sure what to do. I'm sure it would at least sound good, but not sure about the volume.
Well I decided to go ahead and order the muffler so I could take advantage of the $15 ebay motors coupon. So I guess we'll see how it is, I'll try it alone first and then with the resonator.
