Anyone here ever order just the basic XL regular cab/short bed truck?
Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and I am planning on ordering a 2016 F150 sometime in January of the new year. My interest is really in just the most basic XL version of the F150. I hope to get a 2WD regular cab/short box combination in Tuxedo Black. This is not exciting but is really all the truck I need. Since this is an enthusiasts forum I imagine not many folks would be interested in a truck like that. I am retired from the lumber business and just want this truck for driving around town.
My questions are: is the basic Tuxedo Black a metallic paint or just a gloss black? And does anyone know if the regular cab/short box combo will be available. I keep reading that Ford wants to discontinue it because no one buys regular cab trucks anymore.
Thanks for any advice,

IF Ford would build them, they will sell. Ford has completely ignored the regular cab market only building a few. Try to find more than a couple 5.0 Regular cab short beds. They are as scarce as chicken lips! I have a 13 F150 RCSB, I can't see them going away any time soon.

Pretty sure Tuxedo Black (Black Metallic Flake) is discontinued in 2016 and has been replaced with Shadow Black ( Non-Metallic Deep black ).
The truck you want would be best sourced through a fleet manager in the dealership , not many of those builds end up on lots other then fleet orders,

I do not need anything larger. Love the size and how it drives.
I did get the Sport package and a few other creature comforts along with the 2.7 Eco
And yes its metallic black. I would have preferred the Solid black if avail

I have one on order. RCSB 4wd tuxedo black, 3.5 N/A engine, vinyl seats, 100a no options. It's exactly what I wanted. I ordered in March, it's had holds, been on the verge of cancellation etc. I'm supposed to get it the middle of this month hopefully.
You can order a 16 RCSB in August. Prepare yourself for the process if you do. It's not like a loaded CC that shows up in a month. 2016 won't have tuxedo black, it's now shadow black with no metallic.

I believe that the RCSB with the 3.5 N/A motor should be a great around town kind of truck. Not a lot of weight and most of the time it will just be hauling me to the store. Anybody know when the 2016 listings come out so that I can see what colors will be available/ect? I am looking for a fun ride with some longevity to it. Thanks everyone for looking and your input.

This should be an interesting year for me. I cannot order a 2016 truck until January so I have until that time to see what folks have had delivered and how they like them. After some debate I think that I will add 4WD to my basic work truck XL....then it will truly be an all purpose/weather light working truck for me. I cannot wait to see what T R 's truck looks like and hear his remarks. Thanks all for the advice and help.

Why are these taking so long to build. You guys waiting on a 15 ought to just wait and see what 16 will bring. I hear 20" wheels be on the XL option list.
XLT I hope will come in sport package. That would be my pick. With sync3 navigation.
