Looks like they should be shipping out the part today not sure how long it will take to arrive.

Carrierj thanks for the document that is very helpful.

Carbon2.7 - Did you replace your base? Just curious if you had to pull the wheel liner off or were you able to do as 2k12fx2 recommended and remove the screws only and pull it back. I have not tried removing it or pulling it back yet since I don't have the parts.

its easier to work with the wheel liner removed. Its pretty flexable so its not a big deal to remove the passenger side liner. I bought a roof mount antenna and covered the hole with vinyl graphics.

If either of you want to get rid of the base please let me know. I need it to take some measurements for a project I'm working on.

I'll gladly pay shipping. PM me if so

Thanks to all who provided me support in replacing my antenna. Finally had a chance to get it installed and it appears to be working fine.
If anyone has to do this here are some things that I had to do.
I found that my hands could not get all the way up without removing the entire fender splash guard. So I would recommend just removing it made it much easier.
One problem removing the antenna. From inside the glove box it clamps in the front no issue to the vents. However in the very back side are two push pin body clips. I could was able to access the first one by removing the upper part of the glove. Which I ended up changing my cabin filter at the same time so two for one :-). Unfortunately the second pin I saw no way to pull up the clip. It was way to far back I am sure the more versed people on the dash know how to get to it. As I was unable to remove the clip I cut the old wire from the wheel well side and pulled the remainder of the wire out from the glove side. the clip is only fastened to the wire with electrical tape. After that I fed the new wire thru the wheel well opening back thru the glove with no issues. For the replacement I did not use the yellow push clips I just pulled it thru tight and used the clips on the back of the vents. The only other problem I had it took me a lot of work to line up the splash guard. What helped is I lined it up enough to get the center push pin in first then lined up everything after.

Follow up question:

Any recommendations on something that will prevent the base from rusting out in the future.

Glad you got it all figured out.

I would probably just use dielectric grease, to help minimize the change of rust

Ray,

I have the same problem. Rusty antenna snapped. Left a piece inside. Where did you purchase a replacement antenna base?
