Default Antenna

Never noticed the whip antenna on my truck until I was pulling in the garage
And it was dragging on th garage door and a lower part of my ceiling. I didn't know anyone used those anymore. Anyway to use a shorter one.

Use Dremel to cut ball off top. Cut down to desired length. Use JB Weld to re attach ball.

Spray Paint.

OR:

Buy some sort of stubby from Amazon. Lose reception. Spend more money. Ship me your OEM Antenna for free. I cut down, paint etc., sell for $20.

Problem solved.

Thanks for posting this. I was just looking at this thread thinking "Yet another thread on the Antenna because no one knows how to search". I might look into the Ford Econoline antenna.

Just a FYI (in the learn something new every day), you can link someone to a particular post, for example yours: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/anten...5/#post4774108

I did iDrive suggested.
You can just see the ball against the tree
Still get all my stations with no problems, been doing this for along time now to all my trucks.

All I did was pull the ball off the end, cut to the desired length, grind the cut end a little so the ball fits snugly, Gorilla Glue the ball on and hit with some black spray paint. Total time spent.... 10 minutes start to finish.

I cut off 2 inches.. but could not get the damn ball off - much less get it back on... so i just wrapped the tip with some black electrical tape and melted it some onto the antenna.. whatever.. it doesn't smack the garage anymore...
