Another update on overall 2.7 eco reliability?

My 2016 2.7 ecoboost mpg calculator is also consistently 1.5 mpg high. Its funny because my 2014 Mustang GT mpg function is dead on. The Mustang tells me exactly how much fuel I've used since the last reset, but he F-150 doesn't. Seems it would be easy for the engine computer to figure out.

Love my 2.7 Ecoboost
I'm at 8800 miles. I get about 19 mpg, all country roads with plenty of hills.
I can get 23 if I cruise very easily.
it may make a difference that I have the HD frame as opposed to the LD. Not sure how much weight difference there is. I bet that's how some people get such good MPG.

way, the Tacoma’s were slow and rust buckets the S15 was just crap, but in my mind at the time I thought these all were great trucks. I’m starting to see a ton of first generation Ecoboost 150’s in the roads and they seem to be running just fine, hope the 2.7 is as good, because I couldn’t be in happier with my 23,000 miles F150 STX Crew 4wd.

I couldn't agree more thus far but I only have about 3k miles on a 2018 10 speed (details in signature). Despite having bigger, heavier, aftermarket wheels and larger, wider tires, I am still averaging 19mpg hand calc'd, gauge says 20.2. Thats is a fair amount of atlanta stop and go traffic thrown in with some hwy and backroads driving, a good mix... Before i swapped the tires and wheels and got it leveled, the gauge said 22.3mpg, so my customization cost me about 2 mpg, but it is still good for a crew cab 4wd fullsize truck... Acceleration is there when you need it and man this cab is so much quieter than my 2013 screw with the 3.5EB

2015 2.7
Got my 2015 supercrew 2.7 4x4 about a month ago..was a returned lease vehicle with 20,300 on it. I'm averaging about 19mpg in the rolling hills of WV. I have about 21,800 on it now with no problems other than a hum/whine at exactly 60mph under throttle load. Coasting or decel/no throttle has no hum/whine. I'm fairly certain it is rear end ring and pinion but I probably wont mess with it unless it gets worse or starts doing it at other speeds. I also have the 3.55 rear end so it may just be normal gear noise..i just dont want risk ford tearing into it as i fear it could be potentially made worse after the "fix" lol. My previous truck a 2016 ram did the same but at 30-40mph so maybe it is just a thing to live with.
