Hey guys,

I know there's a lot of info out there on the 4" to 8" upgrade. I procured a 8" screen, the APIM and a bezel from a wrecker (just got off the phone with them, shipped to me for $600 CAD - which I think is a decent price?).

Anyways the question I have is can buttons on the climate controls be deleted? The bezel I procured has the heated seat buttons, which my truck does not have and I'd rather not have the buttons. So I see a few options: pull the blanks off my existing bezel and replace the heated seat buttons (assuming this can be done) or try to flip the bezel on ebay for the proper one? I could probably swap the climate controls from my existing bezel over, but the issue with that is I upgraded to tow mirrors that have defroster pads built in and part of my 8" upgrade hope was that I could add a bezel with the rear defrost button (which my existing 4" bezel obviously does not have).

I don't see why you can't use the blanks from your existing bezel. I believe the control unit comes assembled from the vendor, but you should be able to remove the control unit from the bezel, pop the heated seat buttons off and put in the blanks.
