Another one back
My panels are aligned, slight bumper droop. I took the chance with the pano roof again. This was a very late build 2016. Some small improvements over 2015. My 2015 must have been thrown together on a friday. This feels so much tighter.
Welcome back. I've been reading about all of the XD issues. And it's all over YouTube. What a train wreck that appears to be. The two biggest issues seem to be that they haven't properly trained the techs for that platform/power train. And the other being lack of parts availability. Sounds like that truck should have spent another year or two in R&D.

No offense. I wouldn't buy that type of truck from Nissan. They have little experience. They really only have one full size truck and it has changed little since 2002. Until what you just had. I'd stay American if I were buying another diesel. Just my opinion.
The chassis is from their heavy duty van line. The tranny is aisin and the power train is all cummins.
The issue is getting all 3 newly mated products working together smoothly
That was actually my point. That's gonna take years to iron out. Only 30% of it is in house. Ford learned this the hard way. It worked for them when things were simpler. When emissions got tighter it ended up costing them billions in warranty repairs. And made aftermarket diesel shops rich and pop up all over the country.

I will miss the weight of the xd when towing. But like the lightness of the f150 when regular driving. The roominess of the f150 supercrew with the whole family on board is second to none.

Just sayin.Unless you NEED the extra torque, stick with gas engines, Cummins and any other light duty diesel, ain't what it use to be. (ain't is to a word
Not sure on the specific agreement between Cummins and Nissan, but I do know for a fact, that Chrysler buys Cummins without a warranty from Cummins as that would easily double the cost to them, so any warranty is done by Chrysler, not Cummins, thus no Cummins techs sent out. Not very often are any company techs sent out anywhere from any company, but the defective part(s) are sent back to ??(the manufacturer) for tear down, inspection, evaluation. Powertrain consists of, motor, transmission, driveline, differential etc. So you contradict yourself when you say powertrain is all Cummins, which sheds question on the rest of what you say
Just sayin.

Minor stuff yes nissan fixes I don't know the logistics behind the scenes. But there has been many reported issues where cummins techs have been sent to nissan dealers. Mine for one. Cummins is deeply invloved with issues related to the xd diesel and they don't try to hide it.
