Default Another Newbie Thread

So i just picked up a 2019 XLT and wouldn't you know it, but I stumbled across a brand new Set of Raptor Wheels/Tires at the dealer. I am being told that in order for these to fit my truck I would have to install a 2" Leveling kit up front for $650. The newbie question is, "is this really necessary?" I am sure it is, but this is my first Rodeo modifying my truck. Opinions, insults and general comments are welcome.
Thanks!

For $650? There's the reason they tell you it's (level) needed. Did they tell you that price with a straight face? Wondering what they want for the tires/rims. I'd be willing to bet you can find them much cheaper than what they asking for them.

I'll wait for someone and there are several who have done this, to answer but after reading numerous threads on this I don't believe that is true.

$1800 is about the max I'd pay, $14-1500 is more like it where I am. $650 for a level is insane, unless that would be with Bilsteins all around, and even that is on the high side. For a level with a spacer, that's certifiably insane.
I'd try to lower the price on the wheels, then go to a private shop for the level.
Yes, a 2" level would work, 2 1/2" even better.

This a 2 1/4" level with the tires wheels in question.

Yes, you do need a level kit. The actual kit costs about $100-150. The labor is pretty time consuming, and you'll need an alignment once it's done, which is another $100. So I guess the question is how mechanically inclined are you and do you feel brave enough to take a wrench to your new toy?

Congrats on the truck by the way!

What mkraffert said. Some of us read this and said "WHAT?!?!? $650 for a leveling kit that costs $99 at AmericanTrucks.com? But then there's the labor to install and the alignment that will have to be done after the front is raised. So maybe it's reasonable.... I'm not sure. I want to level my truck, but I'd do the work myself... so my budget is $99 for the kit, and then another $80-100 for the wheel alignment. That's WAY less than $650.

Does it NEED to be done? Not really, but lifting the front will guarantee that you won't have any rubbing problems with steering.
