Default Another Lug Nut Question

Hey all, I have seen a lot of lug nut questions on here, but I think I have a different one. I purchased some black lug nuts to replace the factory ones (and to match my rims), the problem is they seem just a little different than the factory ones. Both have the acorn style, but the factory lug nuts are much fatter at the top of the acorn (same diameter starting where they make contact.
They torque on just fine, however, because they are not as fat at the top, they leave just a little bit of non-black in the background on the rim. Do you think I am fine? or should I search for fatter ones?
Here is a link to the ones I purchased: https://www.drivenproducts.com/produ...17381762695225
And I added pictures for reference.

Factory lug nuts. Chrome with black rims?

2 replaced, you can make out what I am referring to in the background

Side-by-side. Same diameter and size, factory is just fatter towards the top.

All black nuts

The description doesn't say it is the Acorn Bulge style, but it does state it is for OEM wheels.

Odd. I'm here for updates -I don't have answers.

The factory lug nuts have a chrome cover on them. If you look at the acorn bulge portion of the lugs, they are both about the same size. Search swollen lug nuts for these trucks and you will find lots of guys that run into issues. Water gets behind the chrome cover, freezes and expands. Causes issues removing them down the road. The black lugs you got will be just fine. The portion of the lug that makes contact with the wheel is important, not the body itself.

Those are the correct size and meet all factory specifications so from a safety standpoint you're good. I just installed the chrome version but if I had the black rims I would look for an oversized one to hide where the paint isn't finished.

If you're adventurous you might want to consider painting where the factory decided to save a penny on paint.

I got my lugs from Coyote recently and a pretty good price. They have the big OEM style seat on them. The page reads weird. I order qty 1 and received 24 lugs.

Do you mind sharing a picture of your wheel with the lugs. I'd like to see how far the lug nut protrudes. I think they are a bit longer than OEM, maybe as much as 1/4".

Humm, they looked tucked in quite nicely.

I thought OEM was 1.45". Maybe not since those which are spec'd to 1.65 look about right.

Thanks for sharing.

Came with the truck. The rims are part of the Black Appearance Package on the 2020s. Center caps where part of the package
