Default Another Crash Bar solution!

I know this subject has been beaten to death on various threads but I wanted to show my solution to getting that extra space needed for bigger tires! I put a Motofab 2 1/2' level on my 2019 Sport with LT285 75 r17 Falcon Wildpeak AT's . Overall diameter measures 33.9'. All my research told me that they would fit with no rubbing. WRONG! Rubbed on front crash bar ok on back. I needed the front bar to move forward about half an inch to provide enough room. Last thing I wanted to do was hack them off l so my plan was to heat them up and bend them. After looking at the way they are mounted it looked like there was some wiggle room in the main bracket for the bar to shift forward. I loosened the two bolts that hold the bar into the bracket and gave the bar a little tap with a sledge and WALA!!! it moved a little more than a 1/2''! PROBLEM SOLVED! Moral of the story...DO NOT cut anything before trying this! Not all trucks come the same from the factory as some may already be as far forward as they can go but its definitely worth a try! Yours might be like mine!

This is probably the only solution I'd ever try. Good work. I managed to get by without modifying my crash bars. I can't wrap my mind around removing crash protection, but just tweaking them like this seems perfectly reasonable.

The reason your tires didn't fit isn't because of the size of the tires, it's the offset of the rims.

I ended up just cutting the front crash bar, I refused to remove the rear ones. now I just need to trim some of the plastic.

Definitely look into options. I personally am having them removed for 35s and adding an aftermarket bumper. Once you remove the front bumper you release how weak the bumper is and understand the crash bars.

+1 Offset was going with -12 but figured that would rub worse actually hitting the bumper being they would stick out further? Also don't like roosting crap all over the side of my truck like my last one!
