Default Another amp install question....

2020 XLT with Sync 3 and no amp. I'm adding some equipment and need a little guidance.

So far all I have are a set of Alpine R separates for the front and a JBL Fuse twin 8" subs with passive radiators. They are very thin and fit behind the seat. Looking at the Alpine KTP 445 amp if it can fit in the dash and possibly a 2nd one bridged to power the subs..

I have been reading every thread that I can find and I'm wondering if anyone used the iDatalink T harness without the dsp?

It worked on my 2022 Mustang just fine.

I know there are a couple of vendors that offer harnesses and that is an option if I can ever get in touch with one.

What about the load generators? Are they necessary if I run the amps on speaker level input?

I do have backup assist so I have an extra module behind the display and have not remove much else to look for space for amps in there.

Ive never heard of someone using a T harness in an F150. I personally will never install a stereo in another vehicle without a DSP. They are an invaluable tool.

imho
for-11ck harness
dayton 408 for front speaker level input, 5ch RCA output
killer 5ch amp https://www.down4soundshop.com/down4...nel-amplifier/
throw in whatever speakers you want
tune it
winning combo!

I'm confused about your comment. A for-11ck is just a T harness that some have had problems with. The Idatalink has a much better reputation

i meant the idatalink t harness... i cant speak about the for-11ck issues other than I didnt have any at all with it. People either run that or the hush one.

I Used:
the for-11ck. I got mine off Amazon.

speed wire (9 wires in one cable) from Crutchfield for speaker wire to run from the for-11ck to the load generators, then to a 5 channel amp. Then speed wire/speaker wire from the amp back to for-11ck harness.

my voice navigation (turn by turn voice commands) would not work without the load generators.

No issues with 11CK here either. I used FORscan to set my output to line level.

I used this
wire wire
into these
molex molex
to connect to the 11CK and to my DSP 408. I also used these line LOC
converters converters
because my output wasn't balanced.

I ordered the Idatalink DFO2 and an Alpine KTP445U amp today.

Hopefully I'll have it rocking by Saturday!

Scrapping the factory tweeters and installing a set of Alpine R series tweeters in the sail panels, keeping the factory 6x8s in the front doors, Alpine SS65s in the rear doors and adding an Alpine 500W mono amp driving a set of 8" JBL fuse subs that will all fit behind the seat!

Idatalink DFO2 Works out of the box. There are extra wires that you will not use but it was pretty straightforward installing this T harness and the Alpine amp in the dash
