Annoying Message
While on a long trip I frequently have this message come up along with the chime, "Keep Both Hands on the Wheel" Many times when this comes up I have both hands on the wheel. Has anyone else experienced this and can I eliminate thru forescan? Thanks
Do you have "lane keeping"? If that system doesn't sense any input it will pop that message. You need to wiggle the wheel once in awhile. You can turn off the system but I don't think that is forescannable.
This happens to me a lot, I live in FL and the roads can be straight for miles and miles. If your alignment is spot on, you don't need to correct sometimes for a long distance. I just wiggle the wheel a bit when the truck says that, or just ignore it.
Thanks Guys, I thought it might have something to do with lane keeping. I typically like to use lane keeping as it helps me keep my boat trailer centered in the lane. Everything you guys have said makes sense. Just have not heard of anyone else having this come up. Reassuring that others have seen it as well. Thanks so much.

Wait to you get the coffee icon suggesting you stop for rest!
Then more annoying threads. I mean messages.
Both can be disabled from your cluster settings....I don't remember exactly where....I did mine just after I got my truck

Of course the system is also noting how many times it has to remind you, i.e. how "bad a driver" you are, and God help you if you're ever in a wreck and the opposing insurance company gets a hold of your data...
Speculation on my part but it certainly is possible...and likely even. We all know the Event Data Recorders in our trucks monitor dozens of sensors and store that, and it is well known this data is pulled when wrecks happen, first by law enforcement then by insurance. They can see what speed you were at, what sort of acceleration and braking profiles you exhibit, time from impact to braking (if at all), etc.

When any alert like you describe is displayed, it CAN be stored...certainly well within the realm of modern electronics.
