I upgraded my 2017 to 3.0 awhile back. I've always had issues with Waze from time to time, and am having issues again. It doesn't seem to find location very well and is not giving audible turn by turn instructions.
Google Maps location works well, but I'm also not getting the audible turn by turn instructions like I used to.
Do I have to turn my audio sound input to my phone? Before it would just lower the volume level on the radio and broadcast the audible turn by turn instructions.
Maybe this is a related bug:
Ever since updating my Sync 3 to the most recent version not long ago, the turn by turn voice in Google Maps navigation sounds super accelerated, so fast you cannot tell what's being said it's like an old tape recorder playing on fast forward. Made sure Android Auto was up to date, which it is. Checked Google Voice / talk-back settings, and voice playback is set to normal and sample sounds normal.
I started having issues hearing turn by turn directions through Android Auto after recent updates. It was working prior. I saw others talking about changing a setting in maps to disable playing the voice over Bluetooth. Seems like opposite of what you want, but to my surprise, it fixed the issue. Disabling this option causes the audio to come over the speakers normally on aa.
