Default Android auto and Sync 3 questions

Is there a way to use the USB ports under the radio just as charging ports? I don't like my text messages stored and displayed and I hate that everytime I plug in it launches android auto and won't let me use my phone. I just want to be able to make calls and use Google maps

and lastly

Can someone please tell me how to stop my radio from displaying the last name of video I was watching on my phone when my truck is started? That's all I need is to have Pornhub displayed on the screen when a passenger gets in.

thanks!

I believe on the main Sync menu there's an icon for Android Auto, open that up and move the slider to the left so it's disabled.

Thanks! I ended up deleting my phone from Bluetooth, when I paired it back it asked me for access to my text and I denied that. That solved my text and last viewed video issue. Connecting my phone to the USB still launches android auto but as long as the other issues are corrected I can live with AA.

You can also change the settings on your phone to keep android auto from starting up. At least I was able to on my Galaxy S8

This.

Android Auto is run completely from the phone. If it's not on your phone it won't run

Without plugging the phone into the truck, launch android auto. In settings there is a toggle to disable the auto-launch of AA when you plug into the truck.

^^^this^^^ It would be a good idea to watch some video and read about android auto if you plan on using it. If not delete away, but just deleting an app because you don't know how to use it is ridiculous.

Thanks all, Repairing my phone to Sync and denying access to text solved my text issue. I only use AA for GPS but have it disabled on Sync, I only enable it when I need directions so I'm cool with that. The only issue I'm having now is whatever last video I watch is displayed on the screen when I first start my truck, So my work around is to launch Pandora after I've watched my "Technical video". So this thread can be closed if need be.
