Default Android Auto, Sync 3 - Outside Temperature

Forgive me if this was already discussed elsewhere, I did a bunch of searches and didn't find anything obviously related.

Does anyone know if there is a way to display the outside temperature through Android Auto running on Sync3? Or if there is another place it can be displayed in the truck (ie. The centre productivity screeen). I'm loving Android Auto, but am missing being able to see the outside temp, without having to go back to Sync3 to see it.

On a side, anyone else using Android Auto have a slightly buggy interaction with trying to set the voice versus audio volume levels?

1 week with the new truck and loving it so far.... So good to be back in a truck!

The volume thing can be tricky when listening to radio and AA nav you got to changw volume while nav is talking ro increase or decrease the nav voice volume. It seems to have 2 separate volume levels.
Can't help with the temp sorry.
Hope this helps.

Yes that is what I have found too, I find it even more buggy when listening too AA Audio and Nav or OK Google Voice. It for sure has the ability to adjust the levels seperately even within just AA. But often I find that it ends up stuck in the "Voice" level after it's done talking and the music comes back. The problem with that is that it is also doing some EQing to make the voice more pronounced with sounds horrible when the music is played through the same EQ. It will stay stuck in this for sometimes 2-3 songs before it goes back to "Audio" level and sounds full again. Sounds like perhaps it's not just me though......

THIS. I think Android Auto is missing this since it clearly is information they could get from a variety of sources. Note, it won't be the same exterior temp from the vehicle's on board thermometer, but at least showing me what a weather site says it is would be better than nothing.

Mine will show local weather info on the notifications screen, if it's not pushed out of the way by other notifications...and if I've actually got cell service (which, where I drive, tends to be a crapshoot).

I'd love it if I could get the info via the truck's sensors, it seems silly that there isn't a way for the truck to act as USB data source and provide that info (as well as other diagnostic info such as boost, IAT, etc, etc via USB to the Android device) rather than requiring me to run an Android Auto compatible app and use an OBD2 Bluetooth connection.

I love AA, but yes you are right. The outside temp is an oversight. While AA probably can't read the onboard thermometer, it could at least pull a location based temp from a weather webservice.

The volume is just what you said, buggy. I hate when the turn-by-turn directions trigger the music volume to lower, and for some reason it doesn't increase once the tbt voice is done. Then you have to do something to trigger the voice again to get it to try to up the volume again.

AA is still not perfect but it is getting better with every update.

AA related. Is it possible to use WAZE & iHeart radio, pandora, etc at the same time? I can use waze and I can use one of the music apps but haven't figured out how to use both at the same time.

It is annoying that they duplicate the compass in the cluster productivity screen but not the temperature
