Default Android Auto stopped “working”

I’ve been running Android Auto through my Synch 3 (via USB cable) since I bought my 2018 STX in Nov 2017. It stopped working as of yesterday. It pops up on the Synch display when I first plug in my USB cable but then disappears. It is still running on my phone but not displayed on the Synch screen. Any thoughts?

I had the same problem. It turned out to be lint in the USB port on my phone. I straightened a standard paper staple and bent a small 90 at the end and picked the lint out. Problem solved.

Also make you your USB cable has not become worn. Apple Car Play started giving me issues in my truck and it turned out my contacts in the USB had worn prematurely. I ordered a better (less cool looking) lightning cable and all is well.

Definitely check the cable. Sync seems to be very sensitive to cables.

You should not be poking anything inside of those ports. Way to much chance of damaging the connectors. Best to use a squirt of Canned Air. It will blow out all of the crap in there without damaging any of the connectors.

2 things:
1: The compressed air did not work.
2: I know what I'm doing- you don't go grinding or digging for gold.

Use common sense, something that is not so common these days.

I had a similar issue where I actually hated Android Auto so much it had me seething with rage. Turned out the solution was to remove it from my phone and disable it in Sync 3. Problem solved!

Losing my entire sync3 to a substandard interface with minimal features when all I wanted to do was have google maps come up on my display.
