I have 0 issues with my AA when I plug it in. It goes right to my 'Home' screen for AA every time.

NOT an Android issue...

Oh and for reference: Nexus 6 running the newest stock firmware for Nexus 6.

If I unplug my phone and immediately plug it in again, it does load navigation. At first I thought it was the charge cord so I have tried multiple cords including the original charge cord and it acts the same way. I have tried starting Android Auto on my phone before plugging in the cable and that does not seem to help. Once it connects to either Google Maps or Waze, it works flawlessly. If I leave the phone plugged into the truck when I shut it off, the navigation starts immediately when I restart the truck.
Anyone else out there have the same problem? Any advice on how to get rid of this issue?
Did you recently update Sync 3 to 3.0? I did and had this issue. I set everything back to factory default and when I restarted Sync, AA and Google Maps worked fine. You could just re-set Sync and try that.

So I had this problem. I would see Android Auto icon appear and dissapear, then I would have to unplug/replug the USB and Android Auto would then work.

I played with the Android Auto settings on my phone, and now it works perfectly fine.

Just go through the settings and make sure to add your truck as a trusted vehicle, and enable bluetooth option.
