Default Is Android Auto no longer?

Android Auto doesn't show up on my phone anymore, or my Sync screen. I know I used it in the past. There is no option to enable it on my Sync screen and I can't even find it on my phone, but it shows up under my list of Apps. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G with the latest Beta edition of Android 12 and One UI v4. Any help here?

I wasn't a big fan of it either, at first. But we've since moved to another state and the area is developing so quickly, I don't trust the outdated Ford maps, that don't update anymore. I want to use Google Maps on the Sync screen.

Android Auto no longer runs on phones. Android Auto runs on car screens, once connected. If you want driving assistance on the phone, Google Assistant driving mode provides that.

I don't use AA as a standalone app working on just the phone screen; I only use it through Sync 3 or Sync 4.

I have a Pixel 3 XL and the wife has a Pixel 3a XL and AA worked fine on my '17 STX Sync 3 until 2 weeks ago when I got my new truck and currently works fine on my '22 Sync 4 both wirelessly and plugged in. Both phones work fine in my wife's '16 Fusion Sync 3.

There have been issues over the years with AA but it works quite well for us right now.

I just got finished looking around on the web and found the above information. I downloaded the Google Assistant and there is no driving mode, regardless of being plugged in or connected via Bluetooth. It's just a bunch of lies. I then uninstalled Google Assistant because it's otherwise worthless to me.

Or it's user error...

I just opened Assistant, and said "DRIVING MODE" and it literally went into that mode.

I also get that option if I open Android Auto on my phone, to "Try Driving Mode".

Maybe some need to go back to

I did exactly what you did. I don't talk to my phone, ever, but I gave it a shot and it said something akin to "nothing found for that search". BTW, I freakin' LOVED TripTik's! Regardless, there is no way to get it onto the Sync screen so it's now a moot point anyway.
