Default Amp research bedstep

I did do a forum search ,however could not find a answer to this particular question. I also looked at the install /maintenance instructions, no luck there either.
went to use my bedstep today and could not get it to deploy. Finally it did did , however it is pretty stiff.
Any thoughts on how to lubricate the mechanism?

2018 factory retractable boards. I switched to this product from the wd40 silicon that I was using for the last couple of years. It works great. I spray the hinges and pins every few months.

The wd 40 silicone works but had a lot of oily residue that collected dust and would gum up the hinges. I would pressure wash and respray. The DuPont product does not carry so much oil and sprays dry. It lasts longer and works better.

I drive in mud, salt, snow, ice and -20 much of the year, so running board lubricant is part of the maintenance schedule. I did change out the drivers side front hinge recently. The perfect level step is a great luxury for an old fart like me.

Thanks for the suggestion.Just to clarify, my issue is with the bedstep that fits under the rear bumper (drivers side). However I am sure the depot will work just fine.

Yeah I wasn’t sure about the exact step you are referring to. But if it has hinges and pins this product will help.

I use a Fluid Film aerosol can twice a year since I live in road salt territory. I give the metal frame a good spraying including the mounting hardware on the bumper. I also use it on my spare tire cable. I really like my AMP step. I missed the bumper step from my former Colorado but the AMP step has a larger pad to step on.

South Mississippi rarely gets cold enough for road treatments. Don't think I have ever seen salt being applied here. I have rarely used the step this year, that's likely the reason it's so stiff.
when I do use it I find the pad a nice size and a good solution for getting in and out of the bed
