Default Ambient Lighting Option Missing

Hey I have 2018 Lariat with the 502A and the window sticker stated that it has ambient lighting however the ambient lighting control in the sync 3 screen seems to be missing. I have lights in all the ambient lighting areas and they light up that soft blue that is used on the ***** in the center stack but I have no option to change the colors. Is there a setting or something I need to change to get the ambient lighting button on my sync 3?

Blue is all you get. ‘17s were the last to have multi-color.

Yep, went away for "cost savings". You can get it back by swapping all the LED modules to the 2016 versions and then twiddling a bit in Forscan to enable the color selection screen.

Seems like a pile of work and $$ as you would have to take apart every panel with an LED.

Took me about 2 hours and something like $200 for the modules. Hardest part is the door panels, which really isn't hard.

I assume thats 200 US which is about 350 CDN and my time. I would have to be very intrigued to do it. Good on you, I would put that into another mod.

Yep. I just couldn't see riding around in my black and red SE truck with blue illumination. Hell, if it wasn't such a giant pain in the ***, I'd change the backlighting on the *****/buttons/etc. to be red as well.

I hear Ya for sure when I sold my 18XLT 302a and got the 19 Lariat the PRNDM not being illuminated on the 19 drove me nuts so I bought the LED and hard wired it in. Most would not even notice.
