Glad you got a resolution that you are satisfied with. Shocks put up a heck of a lot more when they are bolted on the truck, so you shouldn't have to worry about anything having happened that would effect function en route.

With the supply chain disruptions they are shipping inventory that they normally wouldn’t. These “damaged box / cosmetic damage” returned parts are maintained in inventory because they are mechanically fine and are usually sold at discount. When there is a disruption in supply these parts are shipped as last resort products. Your option from their stand point is, “these are what we have and you can take them or not”. The demand is still there and they will ship them to the next purchaser who is not so ****.
