Default Are all 2017+ 3.5s 2nd Gen?

I just want to confirm if all 2017 3.5 Ecoboosts are the 2nd gen version, regardless of transmission. All the info I can find on the 2nd gen only mentions pairing with the 10 speed transmission, but I know there are a bunch of 2017 model years with the 6speed.

Thanks

2017 3.5ecos all came with 10 spd, only the other engines used 6 spd.

AFAIK they're all 2nd gen 3.5s. One if the main changes in 17. They paired the 10spd at the same time.

I'm honestly so confused– the truck I'm interested in purchasing is listed as a 2017, 3.5EB but with the 6 speed auto transmission. I looked up the 2017 brochure and it said the 6 speed transmission was unavailable with the 3.5EB. This isn't the first truck I've seen like this though... The vin is 1FTEW1EG5HKE34138, for anyone who is able to confirm.

Thanks!

Could it be the 3.5 NA and 6spd?

AH- Amazing. Thank you for confirming– I guess the dealer doesn't know what they are selling lol

Never trust what the dealer posts on the ad. Manufacturer dealers (e.g. Ford dealer selling a Ford) are a little better, but I still don't trust them. I bought my truck from out of state; it was a Ford dealer so I was able to view the window sticker. I've never seen a Ford VIN decoder that's right. I ran mine through one and I think it said it's a diesel. When I was shopping online I did a lot of photo verification of options I wanted (the ones you can see). I wanted adaptive cruise and it's rarely listed in a searchable description, so I looked at a LOT of steering wheel photos (for the adaptive cruise switches).

Some makes have reliable VIN decoders. For BMWs you can run it online through various sites for free and it pulls the as-built configuration from a BMW database for that specific car.

when you actually drive the truck the shift (gears) should show up on the dash near the speedometer, as it shifts the number will be highlited.
