Adjusting automatic engine shutoff
2.7l EB. Any way to set the delay for the engine shutoff to , say, 10 seconds? Currently it's 2 seconds and drives me nuts when it shuts off at a stop longer than 2 seconds!

Why don't you simply push the "disable" button on the dash when you start the truck? After a day or two, it becomes second habit...

Also, if you only mildly press the brake it won't shutdown. It's something you'll get the feel for after a couple days. Come to a stop, let off the brake a bit, not enough to get you rolling...
Next time you're at a red light, slowly lift your foot off the brake, when the engine restarts you'll still be sitting still. You'll get it.

software that lets you talk to and read from the computers that run the veichle. It's mostly open source software and I believe it's free on windows. you will need some flavor os ODB port connection to computer.
I use an OBDLInk MX device which is Bluetooth enabled. I use it with my mobile and my laptop - the laptop has forscan. works an nearly every ford vehicle since 1999 if I recall. I know it works on my neighbors 2009 F150. On the newer devices it will let you modify parameters for some of the controls. There are threads dedicated to it.
