Question Additional amber marker for headlights?

So has anyone on here ever thought drilling a hole behind the lower amber marker and inserting an amber 194 bulb? Just wondering if there's enough space between the lens and the back of the unit to put one in there. I have the connector and would just splice into the one above. Any thoughts?

1. Have you ever removed the headlights? It's a headache to say the least

2. Where there's a will there's a way. I think you could make enough clearance to fit another bulb in there

Seems like a lot of effort for something that would likely not even be noticed. Not to mention the potential issues of introducing water or condensation inside the lens.

That being said, it wouldn’t be very difficult to do once the lights were out, which isn’t the easiest of things but not terrible either.

Thumbs down

Removing the headlights is a piece of cake once you've done it a few times. However this project is dead. This pic I found on a thread here shows that the lower amber piece is a reflector only, and is solid material behind it. So even if I drilled a hole, stuck an amber 194 bulb in there and powered it up, it would not shine through. Notice how the top piece has a notch in it for the bulb to shine.

Why couldn't you cut out a space for the light to shine through?

You know, after looking closer at that pic I do see where I could do that. But - the amber reflector sits right on that chrome piece with no space between that I can tell in the various pics I've seen. I'd have to drill through the chrome piece, but not the reflector. I'm not a surgeon and don't have hands that steady And it's nowhere near worth the time/effort to pull the headlights apart. Oh well
