Default Adding the "Tech package" (360 camera) on a used vehicule

Hi all!

This is my first post on this forum!

This is my first Ford!

And this is my first Pickup!

I just love the thing!

:-)

I just bought a very lightly used 2016 Lariat almost fully equiped. The truck has the 502A package, Sync 3, tow package with the telescopic power mirrors, backup camera with trailer assist, etc...

But it doesn't have the 360 camera (missing the front and sides camera) which I would of really liked to have.

Do any of you know if it is possible to add the "tech package", or at least the "360 camera", at a dealership on a used vehicule ?

(I'm talking about the "OEM" model here. I've read on this forum about a 3rd party kit that simulate/emulate a sort of 360 camera system but I don't think that it is compatible with Sync 3...)

I dont know if the wiring is already present and the only thing missing are the 3 cameras, a change in the central console buttons and maybe some on board computer reprogramming...

I see that in the front grill, below the Ford logo, there is what looks like a cutout for where the camera would be located, but that is just a guess.

Any thaughts ?

Thank you for your time!

Interesting question. I have a 502A like yours w/o the 360 cameras. I'm wondering the same thing.

Anything is possible, although not feasible. You need new wiring harnesses to power the front and side antennas. Besides that you have to buy a different front grill and both mirrors plus cameras.

I say that will be very costly.

Well that solves that mystery. I'm good the way it is.

Unfortunately Ford uses different harnesses based on option installed at the factory. I want to switch from a column shifter to a console shifter.......two different dash harnesses. I did it to my 2010 Ram 2500 CTD, Dodge just uses a short pigtail harness extension I could buy for about $25.00.

Regardless, still love my truck.
