Ha I have one from the factory and have been a little nervous to use it because of the stories I've heard from other people here where the high heat flux was enough to shatter the rear window. I'm sure it's extremely rare, but obviously something I would like to avoid. I did use mine several times when I lived in the North though and it was nice.

I am surprised you would even need the defrost. I don't currently have one on mine and had no issues with the windows fogging up. Once I turn on the front defrost it seem the air pushes to back and clears it up. We had plenty of cold days where it did not completely defrost the front or rear but overall worked enough.

I agree heated mirrors is needed. although I added the button for rear defrost to kick on the mirrors I never use the button. I only need to defrost the mirror once when starting out which kicks off when I use my remote start. So just a thought if you have not added the switch yet you can get some really low cost remote start options on ebay.

I installed heated mirrors, but no buttons. Dont think they are coming on with my remote start at all despite being turned on with forscan—going to check if they are getting powered, potentially adding a switch since its just a ground signal.

thats a summer job though it was -40*C today here lol
