What are the steps to push button start OEM conversion

Default Push button start

Hey there,

I'm pretty handy at adding options to my Ford trucks. I've built five of them in the last 7 years. I'm working on a 2021 F350 XL that's been massively converted to so far a Lariat value package plus added LED OEM light package, and BLISS, NAV APIM, etc., etc. I have most of the parts for adaptive cruise and a few other modules and the like on my project desk. ANYWAY... I think I want to convert to proximity key. I had it on my last truck and didn't think I'd miss it on this one.... but I do. I realize I'll have to change the steering column, BCM, and many other parts but I'm ok with this. I already have changed over the front door handles, but need the advanced wiring harnesses for each door. I already have the 502 dashboard harness too.

My question is, would you be interested in some remote consultation to assist me in getting this going? I'd pay a reasonable fee if we agree on in advance.

I have been searching for a BCM paired with two fobs from a wrecked lariat or above 2020-2021 F350 but it seems no wrecking yards want to pull these out.

Thanks in advance!

I'm searching for this for my '18 XLT as well. I found this on YouTube from Feb. of 2021. This place added Push to Start to a 2020 Roush F-150 that had a key to start w/ cylinder etc. They didn't give a lot of details, but at least it can be done.

Just some comment:
My18 XLT has remote start and will also start by >>momentary ignition switch operates to crank (and let off) <<<, it will start by itself, at that point.
All the right parts are already present, I would assume.
All that might be needed would be to wire a Button switch into the system.
I believe momentary starting has to be present for remote to work through the Transceiver located in the cab right rear headliner area.
All that takes is a double press on the Fob Button and it starts.
Good luck.

I know someone that totaled his (2020) lariat (I have a 2018 XLT) and before the insurance company comes for it, I was going to try to get some parts off it (push to start, heated rear seats, dual climate, etc.). I am just not sure what wires and modules to take.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
